Raymarine Axiom, an innovative range of multifunction displays

Raymarine strikes hard with a new range of multifunction displays that are even simpler and more pleasant to use. Fully tactile, these devices offer really interesting functions such as the 3D view of the background or echo tracking by the thermal camera.

100% tactile

The touch screen has now become standard practice. Moving an object, changing the image, zooming... with your fingertips is totally intuitive. Manufacturers of marine electronics devices have understood this and are adapting their devices and especially their software to meet this expectation of users. Today, we want to move from our smartphone to our sonar unit without having to dive into the documentation.

Raymarine Axiom

High-end multi-functionality

With its Axiom range coming on the market for the 2017 summer season, Raymarine is taking another step forward in this direction. These are multifunctional devices with flat screens - multi-touch touch screens of course - totally flat. The front face of the device is a glass. The "wahoo" effect is immediate when you discover it.

The multifunction display, as its name suggests, displays all the data on board. It is an electronic map reader with its position that appears on the map thanks to the integrated GPS. It is also a radar and a depth sounder.

Raymarine Axiom

A probe for fishermen

Raymarine combines its new Axiom range with a specific probe that offers a 3D display of the seabed. To achieve this feat and visualize the bottom up to 90 m, the probe incorporates a girostabilizer. The boat's movements are recorded by the probe (pitch and roll) and corrected in the display to avoid making the screen seasick. This probe is not only for fishermen (who like to see the fish according to the relief of the bottom), but also for sailing enthusiasts. Indeed, visually mapping the bottom of an anchorage is particularly valuable. In addition, the probe is not too thick and remains aerodynamic so as not to interfere under a hull.

Raymarine Axiom

Powerful as a computer

The display is supported by the computing power of the device and the graphic resolution capability. Axiom devices are responsive, making use of them pleasant. The contextual menus that appear on the screen and move at will are there to facilitate the customization of the device.

All Axiom devices have a Wifi antenna. It is used to connect to the radar (if Wifi radar is installed), send the screen images back to a tablet or smartphone and connect to the Internet to make updates or download the weather.

Above all, the Axiom is compatible with the Flir M100 or M200 thermal camera. This will allow you to choose a radar echo and ask the camera to see it on the screen. But above all, this slave camera is able to locate an object on the screen (a boat for example) and track it automatically. For day and night sailing, it is really a guarantee of safety.

Raymarine Axiom

3 screen sizes

The Axiom range now consists of three devices with three screen sizes: 7, 9 and 12 inches. The icing on the cake is that this range is offered at an aggressive price. The smallest screen is available from 745 ?...
