The Bénéteau group is launching a new catamaran brand in parallel with its Lagoon brand. These new boats whose concept has already been presented to you will not be released until 2019. But to get them talking, the brand is launching a competition, the Excess Challenge with as first prize: a catamaran!
Impossible today to know the size of this model to win, the shipyard does not want to communicate on it yet. The only known point, its price: 300 000 €!
The game is open since saturday 8 December 2018 in the morning (opening day of the Paris Boat Show) and will only be closed end of August 2019 . It will therefore be open for 7 consecutive months. This gives you time to participate.
How to win?
Each participant will be able to register for a small fee (5 € if you register before the end of January, end of the Düsseldorf show, and 9 € thereafter). Once registered, you will have to navigate a virtual course and set the best time.
The route is a Mediterranean route that starts in Barcelona, goes around Menorca, passes through the mouths of Bonifacio in Corsica and then reaches Cannes. A cruise (regatta?) that should last between 3 and 4 days. To make this trip, you will virtually sail on a catamaran whose polar speeds will be those of an XCS. The weather encountered will be based on actual conditions. It's up to you to choose the right departure day knowing that you can only make 3 attempts...
Everyone has a chance to win
But don't worry if you're not a good sailor. All participants who have completed at least one course will participate in the draw to win the catamaran. But those who have achieved the first 3 places (the podium) will have a higher probability of winning.
Other prizes at stake
In addition to the catamaran, Excess also offers other prizes such as weeks of rental on their boats for the other winners and for the participants who would play as a team (4 people).
