The Vendée shipyard Jeanneau is launching the Merry Fisher 605 Malin, a model that provides access to its fishing range and complements the Merry Fisher 605, which is more suitable for a family weekend. We will notice its cockpit sliding on the outside to fly from the cockpit!

Jeanneau is expanding its Merry Fisher Marlin range from the bottom with an entry-level model, the 605 Marlin . "This model complements the 605 Weekender, at the request of customers who wanted a "budget" but new boat." explains Vincent Piel, Jeanneau outboard product manager.

This fishing access model is based on the Merry Fisher 605 hull, but features a new deck layout. "We tried to make a boat to access the range, very simple as standard and then optional for customization à la carte" vincent explains.

The hull, with an overall length of 5.64 m, has a fully open deck layout at the stern with an open wheelhouse as standard. The yard tried to offer as large a cockpit as possible and on the same level with this wheelhouse and the bet was quite successful. "There is no notion of interior and exterior, but only one space except that the roof stops at the entrance to the cockpit" adds the product manager.

The cockpit is deep and very protective from front to back, without any steps and with a recessed front deck on very deep starboard. At the stern, there is a starboard seat with backrest, which covers the livewell. Optional folding side benches provide additional seating. An optional cutting board covers the outboard motor.

Access to the forward deck is via the starboard front deck, where it is easy to move around, with high bulwarks and handrails on the front. The layout is very simple with a bench and two steps that allow easy access to the anchor locker and/or to disembark from the front. The front space can also be used as an additional fishing area.

The wheelhouse - which can be closed by an optional sliding window or a canvas - is equipped with two pilot and co-pilot seats, a double berth and an optional chemical toilet. The large windscreen provides an unobstructed view of the outside. There is an easily accessible sink under the co-pilot seat.

But what is really clever is this sliding cockpit to be able to fly from the cockpit. Easy to operate - just pull a piston and slide it backwards via a handle -, it has been designed to make manoeuvring and navigation easier, especially in solo sailing. This option, invoiced at 640 euros, really brings a plus since it feels like having two steering positions in a boat of less than 6 m?!

The Merry Fisher 605 Marlin gets a maximum of 115 HP, an engine that can be raised for greater fishing comfort. Finally, large bathing platforms surround the engine, allowing either fishing on calm seas or easy access to land or water. With a price of 20,928 euros excluding VAT, this very simple small helmsman offers accessibility to the fishing world and his many options allow you to customize your boat according to your desires - and your budget -.
