Flyer 8, a dayboat with a versatile or comfortable engine

Flyer 8 in its Spacedeck version

Bénéteau launches the Flyer 8, a dayboat with a motor of less than 7 m - and therefore with a transportable template - which is available in two versions. The Sundeck version has a double cabin and makes it possible to envisage a weekend at sea when the Spacedeck version is presented as more versatile.

Bénéteau expands its Flyer range by launching the Flyer 8, which comes in Sundeck and Spacedeck versions and replaces the Flyer 7.7 launched in 2015 "This new generation Flyer retains the same design principle: maximum deck area and one cabin" explains Michaël Guinet, outboard powerboat product manager at Bénéteau.

These two models also retain the AirStep technology, a powerful and comfortable hull, currently in its 2 e generation "We made a strategic evolution in the design to stand out from the automotive aspect we found on our other models, with a grille, fins. The appearance is more consensual and the lines are refined. We worked on a more elegant and universal look." michael explains. With a hull length of 6.96 m and a width of 2.54 m, the Flyer 8 is of transportable gauge, but keeps the same deck area, thanks to the smaller freeboards.

Two different deck plans, two different interiors

Both models share a similar deck layout from the cockpit to the cockpit, with a right rear bench seat, with the backrest tilting to the rear for sunbathing. Two folding seats in the bulwarks unfold to create a large dining area around the removable table. The two cockpit seats also pivot to the rear.

Versatility for Spacedeck

It is therefore from the cockpit that the layout differs. The Flyer 8 Spacedeck has a central console with a small cabin with toilets and a fridge. The space is suitable for changing or storing your things. The helm station is installed to starboard and is protected by a high windscreen with black uprights (a new design). As an option, a T-Top fishing comes to cover the cockpit.

It is also possible, as an option, to opt for a fishing station with a counter that takes the place of the bench, with a livewell, rod holders and numerous storage spaces. At the bow, a deck saloon with 3 separate benches (against the traditional U-shaped bench) saves space. The Flyer 8 Spacedeck is suitable for versatile use, for a day trip, with family or friends or for fishing.

Comfort for Sundeck

The Flyer 8 Sundeck has a large sunbathing area on the foredeck, which covers a double cabin. The forward access has been redesigned with two side passages instead of the single passage to starboard. The cabin is rather spacious with a saloon that converts into a double bed, a separate toilet cabinet and an interior kitchen with fridge and sink. A porthole ventilates the interior. It is also possible to opt for an optional leaning-post in the cockpit. So we can spend a weekend on board.

Single motor for both versions

Bénéteau has chosen the single-engine engine to meet the market trend. " The boat is lighter and the rear area is more spacious with a 20 cm wider platform" explains Michael. The Flyer 8 receives 350 HP max with a speed of about 43/44 knots (for the Spacedeck).
