After tackling the development of its Swift Trawler range from the bottom up, Bénéteau is now launching the Swift Trawler 47, which will find its place between the 50 and 44, which will be launched in 2015 and 2010 respectively. It will be presented next September at the Cannes Yachting Festival (11th to 16th September 2018).
This 48.4-foot (14.74 m) trawler was designed by Bénéteau Power and Andreani Design, who designed the last two models of this new generation of trawlers ( 30 and 35 ). The shipyard has put the emphasis on space to offer a comfortable and spacious boat. There are three cabins and a convertible sofa in the saloon. A total of 8 people will be able to sleep on board comfortably.
The owner's cabin has its own shower and separate toilet, the VIP cabin on the port side has 2 separate beds that can be joined together as well as a shower room for guests. Finally, a third cabin on the starboard side can either be used as a sleeping area or as a storage room.
On deck, the layout includes several living areas. To starboard, a large saloon converts into an additional sleeping area. Opposite, the L-shaped galley has a large work surface. The central steering position enjoys a good visibility thanks to the large windshield and can accommodate 2 people. The dashboard can integrate two navigation screens associated with a rear camera for easy manoeuvring. The Ship Control feature, which centralises all the boat's functions, is also on board. Finally, the Swift Trawler can be equipped with an optional joystick.
Access to the cockpit is through a bay window that connects the interior and exterior. The space is modular and can accommodate a table in addition to the bench seat. To take advantage of the sea at anchor, the transom is extended by a bathing platform - hydraulic in option - and spacious enough to accommodate the tender.
From the cockpit, you can access the flybridge, where there is also a second central helm station. Two people can sit next to the pilot thanks to the adjustable backrests of the port and starboard benches. The rear of the flybridge can be fitted - as an option - with sun loungers, which will provide additional comfort as there is already a sunbathing area on the foredeck.
With its 2x425 hp the Swift Trawler 47 should - according to the construction site - have reasonable fuel consumption and a good range: 1920 litres of fuel tank and 680 litres of water tank. Finally, a family boat means safety on board. For example, you should be able to move around easily and safely on deck, with wide side decks, plenty of handrails and an enclosed transom. Wheelhouse side doors allow for easy movement.
