Prepare your 2017 boat show: ask for the program

The Nautic 2017 harbour master's office area

The Paris Boat Show will be held at Porte de Versailles from 2 to 10 December 2017. With the ambition of relaunching the show, which had lost momentum in recent years, the organisation is planning several new features. The aim is to make it easier for enthusiasts to visit the show, to allow as many people as possible to come and discover the new boats on display and to mix the "nautical" worlds

Nautic Innovation Awards

The lounge is organizing for the first time in 2017 an innovation competition, called " The Nautic Innovation Awards ". This competition is open to all players in the French boating industry who have made a decisive contribution in terms of performance, accessibility, comfort or safety on board in the boating industry.

Two categories will be awarded:

  • " Product Innovation "Product innovations
  • " Innovation Department "These include innovations related to consumption patterns and the development of new services.
  • Special Award " Special Start-Up Award "The prize is awarded to the start-up that has presented the most innovative product or service.

The pre-selected products will be exhibited during the whole show in the Nautic innovation area (Hall 1). The final will take place on December 8 at 6 pm with a 3-minute speech by the finalists of the 2 categories.

The Beach

The Beach is not a novelty in itself, but it is the invited federations that make the novelty of this space of the Nautic, designed around a beach sports field, as Claude de Pengam, in charge of the communication of the show explains " The novelty lies in the strong presence of the federations which will not only be on show. Whether it is handball, tennis, kayaking, several animations are planned throughout the Nautic. We are also expecting some guests from the federations

On Friday, December 8, the space will also host a Beach Party from 9 to 10 p.m. with DJ.

The Nautic Wave

For the first time, the Paris Boat Show will host the first dynamic wave that can be surfed in an indoor event. The "Infinity Wave Event" will be unveiled for the first time in a 40x20m pool. "The Nautic will be used as a test base for this prototype, it's a fun animation that will allow people to learn about surfing" says Claude.

Adaptable by its pool size and wave height, indoor or outdoor, Infinity Wave Event can produce a 50 to 60 cm wave by creating an underwater undulation thanks to submerged and reversible pumps, giving it the necessary consistency to surf.

The Ciné Nautic

The Nautic will have for the first time a movie theatre (in Hall 1) of 70 seats to attend a free daily program - during the 9 days of the show - of short and medium-length films on the nautical world.

The Harbour Master's Office

"The harbor master allows us to present an ideal tour according to the desires and typology of visitors, via a mobile application set up to guide visitors." informs us Claude.

Installed in the entrance of hall 1, the Capitainerie will allow the general public to personalize their visit and discover the exhibitors as well as the animations according to their desires, in partnership with the MACIF and the INB. 8 coaches will inform the visitors and the application "Mon Nautic" will allow them to follow their visit on their phone, with the different recommended points of visit.

Boat license area

In hall 2.2, the general public will be able to learn or revise the theoretical questions of the code with the help of 3 interactive terminals in a dedicated area. In a 20-seat amphitheater, a presenter will offer prizes every hour, through a 10-minute quiz.

"Those who are taking their license will be able to practice (harbor exit, priorities...) thanks to electric boats. A fun and practical way to test their knowledge" explains Claude.

8 people selected through an online game in November will also take their driving test at the show.

Lease with option to buy

For the first time, Hall 2.2 will host the LOA (rental with option to buy) area, which will present financing solutions for buying a boat. 8 to 10 motor boats, ranging in size from 5 to 10 m, will be present in this area with a display allowing the visitor to have easy access to the description and rates of the boats.

Welcome aboard area

This space will host 5 sailboats that visitors will be able to discover in free visit. The general public will be able to freely visit a Bénéteau, Dufour Yachts, Fora Marine, Jeanneau, or a Maxus.

My boat in practice

In Hall 3, Uship will offer thematic workshops throughout the 9 days of the show to allow the general public to learn or review good boat maintenance practices.

"Workshops to acquire good practices on boat maintenance (antifouling, engine cleaning, careening...), on safety will be offered to facilitate the life of the yachtsman, whether he sails or motorsails. There will be several short sessions (about 30/40 minutes), each day on different themes open to about twenty people" informs us Claude.
