The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image Award has just revealed its Top 20 most beautiful regatta photos for 2017. Even if the professional jury has already made its choice, there is still time for the public to vote for their favourite photo.

An international competition reserved for professional sailing photographers

The Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image Award is an international competition of professional sea photography. Launched in 2010, this event is the first photography competition dedicated to sailing sports. Each year, a jury selects the most beautiful photos taken around the world, which best represent the essence and excitement of this sport. The photo must be taken during the year during a sailing race. More than one million people saw the photos submitted for the last edition of the competition.

Choose your favourite photo from the 20 photos in the competition

In 2017, the competition opened on 12 October 2017 and no less than 134 photographers from 27 countries submitted a work. The 80 most beautiful photos were selected last month by an international jury and published on the event's website, allowing the public to vote for their favourite photo.

The organisation is today unveiling the 20 photos selected by the jury, while the winner of the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image Award 2017 will be announced at the Yacht Racing Forum in Aarhus (Denmark) on 28 November. The jury's votes will be supplemented by those of the delegates of the annual World Sailing conference.

Among the participants are 4 French, 4 Russians, 3 Spaniards, 2 Americans and Germans, 1 New Zealander, 1 Swiss, 1 English, 1 Italian and 1 Dutch.

The public can continue to vote for their favourite photo, without being limited to the choice of the 20 photos of the professional panel.
