A flagship competition for nautical photography
Created in 2010, the Yacht Racing Image Award is an annual competition designed to highlight the art of nautical sports photography, through regattas and offshore races around the world. Professionals of more than 50 nationalities take part in this prestigious competition, bringing together exceptional shots every year. The 2024 edition marks the 15th year of this event, now an unmissable rendezvous for sailing and photographic art enthusiasts.

The course of the competition
There are three main prizes:
- The main prize awarded by an international jury of experts.
- The Audience Award based on online voting.
- The Delegates' Award awarded by Metstrade visitors and World Sailing Forum participants.
This year, 80 photos were pre-selected by a jury made up of well-known personalities from the world of sailing and photography. More than 130 photographers representing 31 nations took part in this first selection. Of these, 20 images were chosen as finalists, and will be exhibited at the Mets show in Amsterdam.

The 20 finalist photos
The finalists for 2024 illustrate the power and beauty of regattas. They feature racing yachts in a variety of conditions: tumultuous seas, brilliant skies or moments of pure tension during competition. These works embody the creativity and technical mastery of the photographers, while capturing a unique moment on the sea and its sailors. 5 Frenchmen are among the finalists: Pascal Huit, David Lebrun, Jean-Marie Liot, Nico Martinez and Eloi Stichelbaut.
The winner will be crowned at the Yacht Racing Forum on November 21, 2024, in Amsterdam, in conjunction with the Mets show, which brings together professionals from the nautical industry.
