The "Lofoten Masters", a Norwegian surfing competition was taking place this weekend of September 23rd and 24th when two intruders came to mingle in the competition. Two killer whales joined the surfers who were in the water, taking part in the semi-final of the event. Two remained in the line-up while a third took the opportunity to catch a wave. The presence of the animals did not prevent the competition from continuing.

"Looks like killer whales have just entered the competition. We've got two specimens in the water, I wonder how the judges are going to rate them." amused the commentator of the event.

But according to the NGO Norwegian Orca Survey, which studies and protects killer whales, the four surfers were lucky. According to a Facebook post, one of the killer whales rushed towards one of the sportsmen, confusing him most likely with a seal. It was only by getting close to the man that the mammal must have realized that it was not prey.

The Lofoten Masters is a surfing competition that has been organized in Norway for 10 years and has been very successful, especially in Scandinavian countries and attracts surfers from all over the world. The competition continued with the victory of the Swedish Maria Petersson for the women and the Indonesian Edi Siswanto for the men.
