Project Echo, a yacht support catamaran to discover at the Monaco Yacht Show

Project Echo

The Australian custom superyacht builder, Echo Yachts, has just unveiled the visuals of its first support yacht, named "Project Echo". This 50 m long catamaran has been designed in collaboration with big names in the industry such as Bannenberg & Rowell Design, Triton Submarines and Incat Crowther Naval Architects.

By focusing on the design - a catamaran hull - the builder of the 495-ton vessel is seeking to meet two programmes :

In addition to the styling and exterior features designed by Bannenberg & Rowell's, Project Echo has a hull designed for open sea sailing, providing extended performance, improved fuel efficiency, increased cargo space and stability, increased range, and time savings for launching and recovering submarines.

"With the delivery of our 46m M/Y Charley catamaran project in early 2017, we have generated considerable interest in the large living spaces, inherent stability, cargo-carrying capacity and autonomy advantages of the catamaran platform compared to monohulls" explains Chris Blackwell of Echo Yachts.

In terms of technical innovations, an innovative crane system (LARS) for launching and retrieving submarines is on board. This system, developed by Caley in collaboration with Echo Yachts, folds and stows below deck. This gives the owner enough space for a helicopter runway without using another deck. The crane can launch jet skis, jet skis, submarines and landing craft with a secondary 12-ton crane.

Project Echo will have a transport capacity of 40 tons, autonomy for long cruises, even in rough seas, and places to tie up the submarines.

Echo Yachts offers a wide range of customization of its vessels, both in terms of interior design, technical equipment and interior and exterior finishes.
