NV Charts, the complementarity of paper card and electronics

NV Chart delivers its paper map atlases with software to read them on a screen, thus offering the complementarity of paper maps and the electronic version.

NV Charts is a cartographer. It offers a very complete catalogue of paper maps. These maps are presented as atlases that cover an area starting with the smallest scale map (the largest area) and ending with the most detailed map (e.g. harbour plan).

If these atlases are very practical to use with very clear map drawings, the big plus of the package is to offer for the same price (!) the possibility to find your maps in electronic format. Same cards as paper cards, but on a screen.

NV Charts

An application is available free of charge to benefit from it on 5 devices simultaneously. Whether on a computer (PC or Mac) or on a mobile (smartphone and tablet under Android or IOS), the simple and intuitive application gives the possibility to navigate on NV Charts maps.

NV Charts

The application has all the navigation functions with GPS positioning (boat icon in the center of the map), waypoints and routes. Weather information is also available since the application downloads Grib files over 6 days (wind forecast). Tidal information from SHOM is also available.

NV Charts

The application thus allows a complete navigation. Currently all the coasts of France are covered (including Corsica), but also the Balearic Islands, Sardinia, Italy and Spain, England and the Caribbean.

NV Charts

NV Charts atlases are popular with sailors who want to share their sailing with the family. Those who are more refractory to electronics will find refuge in paper maps, but they will also be able to share with younger people who will enjoy following the road on the tablet. Moreover, paper will always remain a safe haven if the electronics on board fail.

NV Charts

The A3 size atlases are available for 49,00 €. With the software of course! When we know that a SHOM map (a single scale!) costs a little more than 31 €, we would be wrong to deprive ourselves..
