Sea Ray presented at the Nautic, in a world premiere, the 230 SPX, the largest model of the SPX range which already has a 19 and a 21 feet, available in outboard or sterndrive version. This new 7.01m model was presented in Paris in a bowrider version, before its official presentation in Düsseldorf (21 to 29 January 2017).
The 230 SPX is a spacious 23-foot boat with a beautiful interior finish: cup holders, speakers, double stitching on the upholstery, stainless steel handles and fabric panels on the consoles at the side passage or along the bulwarks. Finally, there are removable carpets on the floor.
At the bow, the deck is occupied by a U-shaped bench seat with meridians. Behind the bowrider-type windshield, not high enough to really protect the cockpit, there is a double console. The port console accommodates marine toilets, but the space is small for a slightly tall person. However, it remains practical for children or in case of emergency and can also be used as storage space.
On the starboard side, the cockpit is reminiscent of motorboats with a wooden steering wheel and dashboard and rounded dials. It is equipped with a boslter seat with part of the seat cushion rising to drive upright. On the port side, the backrest at the end of the cockpit bench seat is removable to create a co-pilot seat.
In the cockpit, the bench seat is L-shaped but can be transformed into a U with the addition of a cushion on the port side. Behind the bench seat, there is a sundeck that runs the full width of the boat and whose central cushion can be raised to create a backrest and sit facing the sea. The port cushion lifts up to reveal a wicket door that secures access to the cockpit. Under the aft bench seat, an icebox takes place to keep drinks cool.
At the stern, the 230 SPX has a beautiful bathing platform, part of which tilts for easier access to the sea. As an option, a roll bar can be installed for water sports, just like a bimini.
The engine block is located under the sundeck and is available in two engines: Mercruiser 250 HP or 350 HP.
