Story of a sail around the world to devour for free!

2 years, 32640 miles and 95 stopovers. A world tour for 3 captains made between 1966 and 1968. A 300 page story available for free.

50 years ago, in the early 1960s, 3 friends embarked on a world tour on the Beligou. This 10.75 m wooden cutter built for the adventure, allowed this 2-year sailing, totally out of the ordinary for the time.

50 years later, one of them published the story of these adventures. A book available free of charge on the website www.beligou.fr. If two of the sailors are captains of the merchant navy, the third is a painter.

The story reconstructed from the logbooks is enhanced by numerous photos that plunge us into a world and a way of navigating that has now disappeared.

Despite the age of the story, the story is alive and the anecdotes well anchored in the writer's memory seem to us to be very relevant. Discover the adventure of the clandestine rat that stayed a little too long on board, or the passage of the Panama Canal entirely under sail!

The book (300 pages!) is completed with a booklet describing the construction of the boat. A third part entitled guestbook is an excerpt from the messages of the many meetings.

A healthy reading that from the top of its half-century still makes you want to cast off. Especially since the three bearded men, as they call themselves, have always come back friends and the Beligou, this offshore bird, still sails to this day.

Note of 10 September 2017:
The publishing house Ancre de Marine has just published a "parpier version" (a book bound for 23.00 euros) of this epic.
