The Jaguar Speedboard Concept, a boat that will never see the water

In 2012, carmaker Jaguar called on Canadian yacht designer Ivan Erdevicki and Seventy Seven Design studio to create a 20-foot (6.1 m) outboard concept. Called Concept speedboat, the boat complemented the Jaguar XF Sportbrake.

The designer's basic idea was to design a traditional speedboat with the elegance and speed characteristics of the Jaguar car. Constructed of fiberglass, the boat features a teak deck, a large windshield, a carbon fiber spoiler on the deck inspired by the iconic Jaguar D-Type and a polished aluminum propeller. The fuel tank cap is also reminiscent of the one seen on the first generation Jaguar XJ.

The red cockpit has 2 + 1 seats, just like the luxury sports cars. When the boat returns to the harbor, the motorized mooring lines pull out of the hull by themselves. The Concept Speedboat has a load capacity of 1675 liters, a 21 degree swing from the horizontal position of the keel to the bilge.

This boat was designed to promote Jaguar's new XF Sportbrake, but the company made it clear that the boat project would never see the light of day. It was also a way to show how Jaguar's building philosophy could be applied to a replacement product where speed and beauty are priorities.
