A yacht inspired by the past, looking to the future

Feadship has presented the "C" concept as a tribute to its 75th anniversary. This 75-meter yacht pays tribute to classic designs while introducing major innovations in terms of design and durability. The inspiration behind the project is symbolized by the letter "C", a reference to carbon, the central element of diamonds, and to the sea. The yacht's exterior design, with its flared bow, evokes the iconic lines of Frits de Voogt, famous for his powerful prows.
Design integrated into the marine environment

Feadship emphasizes the connection between inside and outside, an aspect often neglected on large yachts. "C" adopts an open-space concept, with fluid transitions between decks and circulation facilitated by a single central elevator. The latter, designed as a hexagonal platform, makes it possible to move between levels without feeling cut off from the environment. The design, inspired by the facets of diamonds, captures and diffuses natural light, creating light-filled living spaces.

A yacht resolutely focused on sustainability

The "Concept C" is also distinguished by its 100% electric propulsion system. Using fuel cells fuelled by green methanol, the yacht aims for zero greenhouse gas emissions, while ensuring transatlantic range. Feadship has opted for contra-rotating propellers combined with an azimuth thruster, a configuration that improves fuel efficiency while reducing vibration and noise. According to simulations, this system enables the yacht to be 30% more efficient than traditional models.

Long-term innovation for shipbuilding

Beyond propulsion, Feadship continues to seek solutions to minimize the environmental impact of shipbuilding. The shipyard is working on the use of low-carbon footprint steel and aluminum, derived from recycled materials. Giedo Loeff, head of research and development at Feadship, believes that these new raw materials could become the norm over the next ten to fifteen years.
