Four surfers paint a canvas with a GPS!

Portuguese graffiti artist Miguel Caeiro shows in a video how he uses the movement of 4 surfers to create a work of art. The combination of surfing, technology and the artist. Beautiful!

Is surfing an art and not just a sport? The reflection is posed by the Portuguese graffiti artist Miguel Caeiro, who has enlisted the help of 4 surfers to create a unique work of art. In this video, the artist explains that it is by taking inspiration from the surfers' movements that he manages to produce a splendid canvas.

The 4 men, each wearing a T-shirt of a different colour: blue, red, yellow and white, are equipped with a GPS sensor that reproduces their movements on a tablet. Thus, as soon as the surfer takes a wave, a line that traces his movement is drawn. The painter reproduces these trajectories on his painting.

"Lines are the basis of an artist's work." explains Miguel Caeiro. Once back in his studio, he uses the coloured lines produced by the surfers to finish his canvas and make a unique work of art.
