Last December, Ocqueteau unveiled on the Nautic the first sketches of its new cruising cruiser, the RC10 (Range Cruiser), designed by car designer Donato Coco, specialized in luxury cars. So, will it take over the codes of automotive design? It will take a while to find out

Ocqueteau unveiled at the Nautic (December 2015) its new livable sports cruiser, the RC10, from the Range Cruiser range. To design it, the yard called on Donato Coco, an Italian designer from the automotive world. A former design director at Citroën, he met Christian Monier, current president of Ocqueteau. The designer then continued his career by signing among the most luxurious cars at Ferrari from 2005 to 2010, then at Lotus.

The two men having kept a friendly bond, Christian Monier then asked Donato Coco to "draw him a boat." He accepts and is passionate about this project.

The RC10 is currently in its design phase. At the beginning of January, the designer spent 15 days at the site in Oléron and almost completed the design. He is still working on the front balcony of the boat, but the outcome is close. The final visual should be presented by this spring.

For the moment, very little information has been filtered on this sporty and exclusive boat since Donato Coco works in a very confidential way, with complete discretion, as is the case in luxury car design.

The initial idea was to restyle the Range Cruiser 975. Thus, the RC10, which will be 10 m long, takes up the hull of Ocqueteau's famous model, the site's largest model. The entire upper part and the interior have been redesigned to create a very beautiful, successful boat with fluid and taut lines. This cruiser will have two double cabins - one forward and one port - for a total of 6 berths (one additional berth in the saloon).

It will be offered in flybridge version, where a lot of work has been done to make space while keeping a balanced line. But also in a sporty coupé version.

With the RC10, Ocqueteau takes a turn for the better by creating a modern star, with an Italian design, which is known for its human-sized fishing trips.
