Shipyard visit / RC 10 d'Ocqueteau, the family and sports cruise

Oqueteau has drawn to modernize its Range Cruiser lineup by bringing in an automotive designer to design its new RC 10. This new sporty flyer will be unveiled at the Grand Pavois (Sept. 28-Oct. 3, 2016) while the boat will be built for late summer 2017. The first 10 limited edition models are already available for order.

The RC 10 will succeed the Range Cruiser 975, an emblematic boat designed by Michel Joubert and with recognized marine qualities. This new 10-meter-long flyboat is based on the hull of the old model, but the entire exterior and interior have been redesigned. The design is the result of the joint work of Christian Monnier, president of Ocqueteau, and Donato Coco, director of styling for Ferrari and Lotus luxury cars.

The RC 10 is a fast cruiser, with taut, flowing, dynamic lines that combine the characteristics of sports cars, composite materials and the proven hull of a proven model. In designing the RC 10, the designer was given complete design freedom and structured the style of the boat around the central theme of the Z and the Ocqueteau logo (which will be backlit at night). The vacuum infused flybridge (which allows for lighter weight upwards) was also an important element in making the most of the exterior space.

On the flybridge (which will be 12m2 and can accommodate 6 people and 3 during navigation), there is a cockpit lounge convertible into a sunbathing area with a front passenger lounger convertible into a seat facing the road. The cockpit is freely configurable with either classic or electronic instrumentation, with a multifunction screen from 8 to 12". At launch, the RC 10 will also be available as a coupe.

Inside, the saloon (1.95 m headroom) is bright thanks to the glazing that frames the entire superstructure. There is a saloon (with a removable table), a galley on the starboard side (separated from the cockpit by a window) and the console in the front, equipped with a choice of a double bench seat or two bolster seats. Several finishes are proposed for the dashboard (carbon, wood, anodized aluminum). The passage in the cockpit is fluid and without rupture, with a completely flat floor and without obstacle.

On the sleeping side, there are two cabins: an owner's cabin with central double bed and a cabin with double bed. The saloon can also accommodate 2 additional people for sleeping.

Several inboard diesel engines are offered (2 Yanmar, Nanni, or Volvo) for a cruising speed of about 23 knots and a maximum speed of about 30 knots. The maximum power is 2x300 HP.

The RC 10 will be built within a year (10 months of manufacturing) and operational at the end of summer 2017. 10 first units signed by the designer can already be ordered.
