The Bavaria E40, Bavaria's first hybrid yacht presented in Dusseldorf

The German shipyard Bavaria is taking advantage of the Boot in Dusseldorf (January 23 to 31, 2016) to unveil several new products. With two world presentations on the sailboat side, the engine is not left out with the presentation of a new project, the Bavaria E40, this Sunday, January 24.

This new âeuros model initially named "Project DA10" started in the summer of 2015 in the development offices of Bavaria, in collaboration with Vripack, Dutch naval architect and designer.

Now called the Bavaria E40, the hull mold is already in production at the Giebelstadt shipyard and is approximately 12 m long. The interior plans have also been drawn up. Design, functionality and efficient motorization are the main attributes of this new boat. The first prototype will be ready in spring 2016.

Economic and comfortable cruise on the program

The name of the boat was revealed this Sunday, January 24, by the godmother of the range, Nele Henkel who said "I christen you Bavaria E40 and wish that all motorboats of the same name allow safe sailing." The "E" stands for Economic, Ecological, Exploration, Efficiency and Emotional.

The Bavaria E40 is not designed for speed, but to live comfortably on the water, safely and economically. Thus, it will be equipped with a semi-displacement hull. Its classic contemporary design will give pride of place to the interior space. The boat will be available in two versions: as a sedan (riverboat) or as a fly proposed alternatively in 2 or 3 cabins.

A spacious exterior dedicated to pleasure and relaxation

The Bavaria E40 has a large open cockpit with two large bench seats on each side and a dining table. Steps lead down to the bathing platform, just like a superyacht. You can then enjoy the anchorage with your feet in the water and swim easily thanks to the swim ladder.

Forward, the bow of the boat is entirely dedicated to relaxation with a large sundeck.

A different interior design for maximum space on board

The central place of the boat, dedicated to life on board, will be the spacious saloon with a central steering position, in front of the cockpit's French windows. This is quite an unusual layout, as it is usually located at the front of the boat. There is also a large dining table to starboard and a fully equipped galley with oven, stove and large refrigerator. The entire cabin is fully glazed, allowing a 360° view on the outside.

On the lower deck, in the center of the boat, is the engine and technology of the Bavaria E40. With this original layout, it is possible to create more space for all cabins and especially for the cabins located at the back. The forward cabins are accessed by a staircase at the front of the boat and the aft cabins by a staircase next to the cockpit.

The owner's suite is located at the front of the boat. Even if the shipyard announces a luminous space thanks to windows and portholes of hull, on the synthetic images it is not conclusive. We will have to wait to see the boat in real life to verify if the interior is really bright. The owner will benefit from a king-size bed, a dressing room, storage space and his own bathroom with shower.

In addition to the classic diesel engine, from 75 to 300 HP, the boat will also be available with a hybrid engine.
