Long Bay, a dayboat dedicated to pleasure and relaxation

The Long Bay was designed by the architect Hervé Nollet. Its retro lines combined with its clever design make it the ideal boat for a comfortable and safe day at sea.

At the Paris Boat Show, in the Motorboat Hall, we discovered a strange boat with a large rear trunk housing an outboard motor. Hervé Nollet, its architect, presented us the Long Bay, a 7.72 m dayboat (6.99 m hull length), entirely dedicated to the pleasure of sailing and with delightfully retro lines.

"The Long Bay is a boat to spend the day on, a true epicurean boat." explains Hervé Nollet. And indeed, this dayboat has been cleverly designed and is perfectly suited to the needs of a family. First of all, the outboard is concealed which, in addition to giving it retro lines, guarantees great safety in the water, with a propeller hidden on the port side.

The bulwarks are 97 cm high, which also guarantees safety on board, especially for children. " It's unheard of, we are very safe on this boat, it's very innovative in its deck plan" says the architect.

At the front, as well as at the back, there are large sunbeds "The goal is to sail quietly, in the greatest comfort." At the front, a large saloon (which turns into a sunbathing area) is protected by a bimini, which rises and falls to follow the sun.

Behind the seat backs, in the bulwarks, are storage compartments for the fenders while the front bench seat houses 3 small trunks. Another clever way to provide storage.

The cockpit is off-center on the starboard side with a steering wheel that is a little far back (on the prototype). On the other models, it will be retracted by 7 cm more and it can also be installed flat on the dashboard. "It fits well with the philosophy of the boat." The console also houses a chest with glasses and sink.

The large rear sundeck is also very clever. Under the bench seats is a very large trunk as well as two small lockable compartments. But what is really nice is the modularity of the seats. Some parts of the sunbathing area can be folded or unfolded to create footrests.

On the side, a very wide door allows to go down easily in the water thanks to a ladder. But at the same time to sit with your feet in the water to enjoy the anchorage. At the front, you can sit on the wooden deck hull and at the back the bathing platform and the steps in the hull, facilitate the boarding.

LEDs on the floor are installed all around the seats to bring light at nightfall.

The Long Bay is certified for 9 persons and really has this capacity. This boat, in appearance very simple and uncluttered, has many amenities that facilitate life on board and ensure safety while sailing.
