Come and meet the champions of the great regattas

While some of them have just reached Brazil, some skippers of the Transat Jacques Vabre will be present at the Nautic in Paris. It will also be an opportunity to attend the Mini-Transat prize-giving ceremony on Saturday, December 5, and to meet the great sailors of tomorrow. Legendary boats to adorn the halls

Each year, legendary boats take part in the great exhibition. After the Pen Duick, Yves Carcelles' Runa or Baron Bich's France 1, other boats of character will be exhibited this year such as Winnefox, a Class A scow meticulously restored by Francis Van de Velde. These scows sailed on the Great Lakes, as fast as modern multihulls thanks to their ultra wide hull.

Among the motors, the Cercle du Motonautisme Classique will exhibit a dozen runabouts and outboards dating from the post-war period.

Gliding in the spotlight

The Nautic basin will be once again in the spotlight with initiations, demonstrations and competitions. This year, it has been enlarged and it will be an opportunity to discover new board sports, to attend demonstrations of safety equipment and wakeboard champions. There will also be competitions of Sup Polo, wake but also stand-up paddle. The space will also host a new shaping cabin and almost all the boards on the market.

Take an interest in the environment

In the middle of the COP21, the Nautic will also be an opportunity to look at the specific problems of the coastline and boating. On December 8, the European Boat Industry will take stock of the recycling of boats at the end of their life, a complex subject on which the French industries have made a lot of progress. On December 9, Environment Day, a number of topics will be covered, including hybrid and electric propulsion solutions, SHOM's observation of sea levels, the 7th Continent Expedition, and the famous sailing laboratory ship TARA. As for Stéphane Mifsud, world record holder in freediving and sponsor of the Nautic 2015, he will present the educational and scientific missions of his project, the Blue Odyssey.
