The leader of the Tour de France à la Voile concedes points on Act 6 in the overall ranking

Act 6 of the Tour de France à la Voile, which took place from July 17 to 18 in Roses, Spain, allowed the second place in the overall ranking to take points from the leader.

After 5 first races in the English Channel and on the Atlantic coast, the Diam 24s have reached the Mediterranean. Arriving in Roses, in the Spanish Catalonia, to compete in Act 6, the yachts took the start of the coastal raid at noon, this July 17, from the marina. The trimarans set off on a 25-mile course from the Spanish city, with a triangle to the north, a descent to the south and a return in front of the Tour village.

Spindrift takes off on the coastal course of Act 6

After 3 hours and 35 minutes of racing, Spindrift won the Spanish coastal raid ahead of CombiWest, Groupama, Vannes Agglo âeuros golfe du Morbihan and Grandeur Nature Vérandas. In the lead, we find the three regulars of the podium, in the general ranking.

It was with a lead over the general pack that the black Diam traced its route from the start. Heavily trailed by CombiWest, Grandeur Nature Vérandas and Vannes Agglo âeuros Golfe du Morbihan, he was even overtaken, 4 or 5 miles from the finish by the first.

On this leg, the leader in the general ranking, Groupama, concedes one point to CombiWest and two to Spindrift.

CombiWest grabs points from Groupama in the general standings

The 18th of July was dedicated to the regattas in the Stade Nautique, whose first race started at 11:30 am in front of the marina of Roses. It is CombiWest who wins, in front of Normandie Élite Team and lafrancedunordausud.fr.

Groupama finished 5th on the day and only has a 12 point lead over its direct rival, CombiWest. Spindrift, which started too early in the first race of the day, is in 7th place. Still 3rd in the overall ranking, the Diam noir is threatened by the regularity of Grandeur Nature Vérandas.

The day was quite rough, with a steady breeze and strong wind. Thus, we could see PRB and Vannes Agglo Golfe du Morbihan hanging on or Made in Midi and Sodebo capsizing.
