Created 13 years ago by Bruno Delaye, this event aims to gather the best international achievements on the theme of surfing. For all these years, tens of thousands of people come to the Landes to attend this great gathering. The closing ceremony on July 13th will be followed by a big fireworks display.
A popular event to elect the best films
Every year, surfing enthusiasts, but also curious people gather with their feet in the sand at the Chambre d'amour. 2 giant screens are installed on the beach, where international feature films are projected from 5 pm. Each one presents its vision of surfing, relays travels and encounters, the whole sprinkled with exclusive historical images.
The films presented were made by professionals or amateurs, shot on the most beautiful spots on the planet or on local spots, all over the world. An ideal way to make the spectator travel and discover a whole universe.
During 4 days, everyone can come and watch free films and animations. This year will be presented 15 feature films and 4 short films that will be judged by a jury composed of 7 members. To this end, 7 prizes will be awarded:
- Best film;
- The best shot;
- Best Original Score;
- Best surfer;
- Best Editing;
- The Prize of the General Council of 64 by the vote of the Internet users;
- The Best Short Film Award.

You too, vote for your favorite achievement
Throughout the Festival, Internet users will also be able to choose their favorite film. To do so, they will have to go to www.surf-film.com and vote for the achievement they want. In 2014, 15,000 votes had allowed Tierra de Patagones by Julian and Joaquin Azulay to win the public's support.

Surfing is no longer only for sportsmen, since women and children are also taking part in it.

"Each year we propose to discover the vision of several directors, all with a different personal background. But they all want to share the passion that drives them, the love of surfing, the respect of the ocean and the discovery.
The gathering of the big names in surfing
For 12 years, the International Surf Film Festival of Anglet has attracted the biggest names in surfing: Tom Curren, Laird Hamilton, Mark Richards, Terry Fitzgerald or Shaun Tomson.
