The new Leopard 43 PC will be launched in August 2015

Leopard Catamarans will launch a new power catamaran in Cape Town, South Africa, this August. Inspired by the features that made the 51 PC so successful, the 43 PC, as it is called, will replace the Leopard 39 Powercat.

This new model built by Robertson & Caine was designed by Simonis Voogd Design. The Leopard 43 PC, is a medium sized catamaran, which has been completely redesigned but retains the quality of construction of the South African shipyard: hull design, speed, standard specifications or redesigned interior.

"I think this model is what customers have been waiting for. It represents the values of Leopard Catamarans, namely quality, performance and durability. It offers great fuel capacity at cruising speed, plenty of exterior space, including a large flybridge that can be completely closed. It is economical, easy to handle and spacious with an interior volume that is 27% larger than its predecessor." explains Isabelle Blainey, Leopard's North and South America Sales Manager.

The stepped hull allows for additional interior volume above the waterline. Hull accommodations are more spacious without sacrificing the catamaran's performance. With its narrow hulls and less wetted area, the Leopard 43 PC achieves a top speed of 23+ knots (27 MPH or 43.45 km/h) and ensures optimal fuel utilization. Outdoor living space is maximized on the 43 PC. Like the 51 PC, it features a large flybridge with a work surface with grill and sink. The semi-enclosed space also includes a helm station and just off it, a large dining area with U-shaped seating, and access to a sunbathing area located forward of the flybridge. A staircase leads to the salon on the main deck aft.

Franck Bauguil, Vice President of Sales explains " The all-new Leopard 43 PC is a big step forward since the release of the 39 PC. Today, this 4 e generation of power catamarans, built in collaboration with Robertson & Caine, has evolved significantly. We have continually improved our power catamarans, offering fast and economical products with ample accommodation, large flybridges, access to the bow from the main salon and comfortable rides in all conditions. The 43 PC is the logical extension of the very successful PC 51 for private owners or charter. In fact, Leopard catamarans have become the leaders in the United States in this segment."

The interior of the 43 PC will be modeled after the new sailing catamaran, the Leopard 40. In this new layout, the galley is located forward and the dining area, which was located forward, is now located aft. This allows for a panoramic view with large sliding glass doors located between the saloon and the aft cockpit. This arrangement promotes communication between guests, an open space between the saloon and the aft cockpit, and a fusion of indoor and outdoor living space. In the galley, a large window provides a view forward and a door provides access to the front platform of the boat. This access door further enhances the open atmosphere of the boat and allows for easy movement inside and around the boat, not to mention the ventilation aspect of the interior.

The Leopard 43 PC also features a new interior design with gray wood flooring and cabinetry for a fresh, modern look. She also has a large open saloon with a fully equipped galley and 3 cabins, 2 of which are forward. The starboard hull is entirely dedicated to the owner's suite (optional 4 cabins.)
