Optimizations in the layout
After the launch of the Leopard 53 PC in September 2020, Leopard Cataramans is launching the Leopard 46 PC, its second new generation power catamaran. While the lines of the two models are substantially similar, the hull glazing is now rectangular and runs the length of the hull. This model has a straight bow and stepped hulls, thinner below the waterline and larger above to provide more cabin space without compromising sailing performance.
The interior styling and finishes have been entrusted to a new designer, Ali Beetage, from Linj Architectural Interiors. New features have also been introduced on this model, notably in the kitchen. Located at the rear of the saloon, it is now separated in two to facilitate circulation. On the port side, there is an L-shaped work surface with sink, oven and gas stove, and on the starboard side, a large work surface with storage and optional equipment such as a wine cellar or an ice maker.
In the cabins, circulation has also been optimized with island beds and increased floor space. The Leopard 46 PC is available in three or four cabin versions, each with queen size beds. In the three-cabin owner's version, one of the hulls is entirely dedicated to the owner with a large dressing room, an office and a bathroom with double sinks and a shower separate from the toilet.
Three outdoor living spaces
Outside, the aft cockpit is directly connected to the interior through large sliding doors. It is furnished with a U-shaped settee and a large table that can seat 8 people. The forward cockpit with reclining sunbeds is directly accessible from a central passageway via the door at the front of the saloon.
Finally, the flybridge allows you to sail and enjoy your guests with a cockpit located at the starboard forward end, offering an unobstructed view. A rigid bimini provides protection, while a deflector should reduce disturbance while sailing.
Autonomy and performance
The Leopard 46 PC has two separate large engine compartments housing Yanmar engines of 250 hp each. The shipyard claims a range of 1,600 nautical miles, a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.
The new model will have its world premiere at the Miami boat show in February 2022 and its European premiere at the Grande-Motte Multihull Boat Show in April. It will also be available for management and charter at The Moorings under the name Moorings 464PC.
