Presentation of the 12th edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre

The presentation of the Transat Jacques Vabre 2015 took place at the Nautic in Paris on Saturday, December 6, in the presence of the reigning winners of the MOD70 and Class40 categories, Sébastien Josse and Sébastien Rogues.

The departure will therefore take place on October 25, 2015 and will rally a coffee destination, as is the tradition. For the 22nd e times, it is Le Havre, 1 er coffee port, which will host the four classes present for the departure and Itajai for the 2 ème times, in Brazil, 1 er coffee-producing country, which will receive them upon arrival. " For the city of Le Havre, the Transat Jacques Vabre is a huge nautical festival and an unmissable event every two years. This year again, the city of Le Havre will do its utmost to welcome the 350,000 thousand visitors who are expected around the Paul Vatine basin from October 17 to 25, 2015." said Edouard Philippe, the deputy mayor of Le Havre.

4 classes of boats for a unique course of 5,400 miles

The novelty of this edition is the arrival of the Ultimates on the starting line of the coffee route, alongside the Class40, Multi50 and Imoca boats. Multihulls and monohulls from 12.18 meters to 32 meters long will leave for Brazil.

The boats will all be lined up on the same starting line and will complete a unique and direct course of 5,400 miles, in pairs.

"The event will welcome the most beautiful current series of ocean racing on the same start and in the same race, this 12th edition promises to be very exciting" said explained Manfred Ramspacher, in charge of the nautical organization.

The winners of the 2013 edition

In 2013, the winning duos were Sébastien Josse and Charles Caudrelier in the MOD70 class, Vincent Riou and Jean Le Cam in the Imoca class, Erwan Le Roux and Yann Eliès in the Multi50 class and Sébastien Rogues and Fabien Delahaye in the Class40 class.
