An expected successor to the Lagoon 380

Seven years after production of the Lagoon 380 ceased, the new Lagoon 38 is its logical heir. The CNB Lagoon shipyard has not only sought to reproduce a best-seller: it has completely rethought its volumes, layout and functionalities. While the footprint differs by just a few centimetres, the 38 appears considerably larger. The lines have been modernized, with a higher freeboard and optimized flotation.
On-board comfort and modularity

Available in 3 or 4 cabin versions, the Lagoon 38 offers a generous layout, with a bright saloon, a large modular table for ten guests, and fluid circulation between cockpit, saloon and foredeck. The owner's version features a berth forward, separated from the engine and cockpit areas to preserve privacy. The forward cabins, long considered less comfortable, have improved in quality, to the point of becoming as desirable as those aft.

Relaxation and simplicity on the water

Lagoon's focus is on family cruising and chartering, with plenty of space for relaxation: sunbathing on the deckhouse, a large trampoline and deep, accessible aft skirts. The helm station, positioned halfway up on the starboard side, offers good visibility over the bows and easy maneuverability thanks to the two Yanmar engines.
A sail designed for everyone

The 38 comes standard with a self-tacking jib for easy sailing. As an option, the shipyard recommends a furling Code Zero (soon to be available with electric motorization) for greater versatility under sail. Two sheets allow efficient mainsail trimming, without the need for a track, for simplicity's sake.
Prices and outlook
Launched in Les Sables-d'Olonne, the first Lagoon 38 was transported to Bordeaux, where it was presented at Exclusive Days. Priced from ?410,400 incl. VAT, the Lagoon 38 is part of the shipyard's strategy to win over European and international customers looking for an affordable, seaworthy and comfortable catamaran. Its first public presentation confirmed the market's enthusiasm. It remains to be seen whether it will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor.
