A catamaran designed for slow, comfortable cruising

The Tortue 147 embraces its commercial moniker. Its program is in line with the slow cruising trend. Measuring 14.70 meters long and 7.85 meters wide, this 17-ton catamaran has been designed for comfort, conviviality on board and autonomy. It is built by Cataruga in Tunisia, on a base of 75% recycled aluminum, with a hull thickness of 8 to 10 mm.

Architecture designed for habitability

The Tortue 147 features a single-level deck layout, avoiding levels and steps, with a central cockpit and a large living area integrated into the saloon: equipped galley, appliances, high-tech helm station. The concept: "1502"1737"2081"1808"1504" according to Jean, the initiator of the project. The central nacelle houses an owner's cabin, and the whole boat has nine berths, two bathrooms, a washing machine and plenty of storage space.
Aluminium, ballast and longitudinal stability

Technically, the Tortue 147 incorporates two bow bulbs to dampen pitching, long keels for beaching and aft ballast tanks (2 x 1,200 liters) that can be used as water or fuel tanks. The skegs provide extra protection for the propellers, while the engines, housed above the keels, are protected from impact. This configuration aims for stability and durability, with easy maintenance and extended autonomy.
Hybridization and energy autonomy

Hybrid propulsion is based on two 57 hp combustion engines coupled with two 10 kW electric motors. The all-electric range provides around two hours' cruising at 6 knots. The deckhouse has been designed to accommodate up to 5.5 kWp of solar panels. The shipyard is banking on this ability to produce and manage energy on board as a key selling point for future owners.

With the Tortue 147, Cataruga introduces a new type of aluminum catamaran dedicated to responsible cruising. Contrary to the classic codes of fast yachting, this model combines robust technical choices, a credible environmental approach and an ergonomic concept focused on life on board. After a lengthy presentation tour in Europe, the Tortue 147 could well appeal to a niche of yachtsmen in search of technological sobriety.
