Explocat 52 v2: Garcia Yachts unveils new version with redesigned cockpit and more light

At Cannes 2025, Garcia Yachts presents an evolution of its Explocat 52 aluminum catamaran. This model introduces new interior layouts and two cockpit configurations adapted to different sailing programs.

An evolution marked by design

Garcia Yachts unveils the Explocat 52 v2, an evolution of its 16-meter aluminum catamaran. This model features a revised hull design, with enlarged aft portholes and a tauter line. The aim is to bring more light into the cabins, while strengthening the visual connection with the sea.

A unique segment in aluminum multihulls

With sixteen units ordered since its launch, the Explocat 52 v2 is the only aluminum catamaran produced in small series for ocean-going programs. Its design is aimed at committed crews looking for robustness and safety over long distances, where most multihulls are still built in composite.

Two cockpit versions for different uses

The main innovation is the offer of two cockpit variants. The Haven-Deck version retains the principle of the piano in the lower section, giving priority to protection during maneuvers and adapted to short-handed sailing. The Sky-Deck version, on the other hand, moves all manoeuvring to the upper part of the cockpit, with an enlarged bench and the possibility of integrating an outside galley. This modularity illustrates the attention paid to different sailing styles, between protected comfort and panoramic vision.

A swivel-bar concept that has been retained

True to the principle of the pivoting helm column, the Explocat 52 v2 can be steered in the high position when the weather is favorable, and in the low position when conditions deteriorate. This feature remains a key feature of the Explocat, reconciling ergonomics and safety.
