A spacious, modular cockpit

The RM 1080's cockpit stands out for its ingenious layout, designed to maximize space and comfort. It features wide gangways for easy circulation, and double bench seating separated by stainless steel backrests. The outer section can be padded to serve as a deck berth protected by a high coaming, or left free for easy movement.

Optimized maneuvering

The deck layout remains true to RM standards, with halyards and sheets returning to the two winches on either side of the companionway. Two additional winches, positioned lower and aft, facilitate genoa and gennaker trimming. However, the RM 1080 does not come with a self-tacking jib as standard.

Among the practical details, the large-capacity anchor locker allows you to store a large quantity of chain without the risk of jamming the anchor. The vertically sliding companionway panels provide additional comfort when sailing and at anchor.
Optimized interior volumes

Below deck, the RM 1080 adopts a sleek, functional layout, designed in painted plywood for a meticulous, customizable finish. Natural lighting is one of the model's strong points, with large side portholes and a panoramic view offering unobstructed visibility forward. This layout allows you to keep an eye on the foredeck from the inside, while ensuring plenty of light in the saloon.

A space designed for life on board

The RM 1080's layout favors a balance between habitability and storage space. The forward cabin features a 1.40 m-wide berth, with a headroom limited to 1.67 m in front of the main bulkhead. The aft cabin, on the port side, has a berth of the same width, while on the starboard side, a large technical room can be used to store bulky equipment or set up a workshop.

The large aft locker, accessible from the inside via the washroom, has been designed to remain completely dry on the high seas, guaranteeing optimum protection for stored equipment. The washroom itself incorporates a rod for hanging up wet oilskins, an appreciated detail for long voyages.
