On the Ocean Fifty circuit, projects evolve with the seasons and budgets. Between technical preparation and the search for partners, each campaign is built over time. As the major events approach, certain choices mark a clearer course.
A new name for a relaunched project
The trimaran skippered by Laurent Bourgues abandons the name Mon Bonnet Rose to become READY TO GO. This change comes after two seasons under the old name. Behind this new name, the team is demonstrating its desire to clarify its sporting project and its trajectory.
The boat remains an Ocean Fifty, a platform renowned for its offshore performance, capable of regularly exceeding 30 knots. This type of boat requires rigorous preparation, both technically and logistically, particularly in view of the major transatlantic races.
Setting course for the Route du Rhum 2026 and opening up to partners
The announced objective is clearly identified: to be at the start of the Route du Rhum, which kicks off on November 1, 2026 in Saint-Malo. This is a key milestone for the team, which will determine the preparation of the boat and the sporting calendar.
Against this backdrop, the Smiling Team is calling for new partners. The project is open to entrepreneurs and investors wishing to join an ocean racing campaign. At the same time, the trimaran can be seen in Lorient, a major technical base for racing multihulls.
This repositioning comes at a time when Ocean Fifty teams are seeking to consolidate their budgets in order to remain competitive on a demanding circuit.
