On September 15, 2026, the maritime community will pay tribute to Charlie Dalin on the water. Starting at 4:00 p.m., Concarneau and La Forêt Bay will host a grand parade bringing together offshore racing professionals, recreational boaters, and fishermen. Admission to the event will be free, whether viewed from land or from the water.
A grand parade open to all types of sailing families
The event is expected to bring together a particularly diverse fleet. Ultim, IMOCA, Figaro, Class40, and Mini 6.50 boats are scheduled to participate alongside wing foils and recreational boats. Fishermen are also invited to join the parade.
The SNSM, the French Navy, and the Abeille Bretagne will support the gathering. The program that has been released does not yet specify the registration procedures, the times for the boats to assemble, or the traffic arrangements in the bay. This information will be provided at a later date.
Noise rather than a minute of silence
The tribute was conceived in accordance with Charlie Dalin's final wish: to bring together the various maritime communities for a communal celebration.
Under these circumstances, there?s no way they?ll observe a minute of silence. Instead, the organizers are announcing a ?Minute of Noise.? A musical barge will accompany the fleet, while foghorns, sirens, and applause will echo across the water. Colorful smoke bombs are also planned.
The parade will also feature a flyover by a Rafale and an ATL2 from the French Navy.

The day will continue with a daytime fireworks display. The film *L'Albatros hurleur* will then be screened at the Cinéville movie theater.
Boaters who wish to join the gathering with their own boats will have to wait a little longer before preparing their mooring lines. The detailed route of the parade and the instructions for participants have not yet been released.
The date, however, has been set: Tuesday, September 15, 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m., in Concarneau and La Forêt Bay. Whether on the water or on land, admission will be free.
