Entering the superyacht world
Palm Beach Motor Yachts announces the launch of a new flagship, whose range until now has been from 42 to 70 feet. This is the Palm Beach 85, with an overall length of 27.60 m and a hull length of over 24 m. This entry into the superyacht segment is presented as a natural progression for the brand, founded by Australian skipper and boatbuilder Mark Richards.
Three versions and several layout combinations
The Palm Beach 85 is designed to offer high standards of comfort, luxury and performance. It also offers a higher level of personalization. Each of the nine models in the classic Palm Beach range and the three in the Palm Beach GT Sports series can be fully customized to the precise requirements of each owner. As an option, the Palm Beach 85 can be fitted out in a three- or four-cabin version, suitable for cruising with family or friends.
Three versions are offered: Sedan (no fly), Skyloundge (the flybridge is enclosed and glazed, like a third deck) or Flybridge (with an open fly, just covered by a T-top). Several engine packages are also available, with twin or triple engines. The standard version is equipped with two 2 x 1000 hp Volvo Penta IPS 1350S, giving it a top speed of 26 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots. The advertised range is 700 miles. Two 2 x 1300 hp MAN V8 engines are available as options.

A caring crew and a bright, airy layout
What sets this 80-foot range apart are the truly comfortable crew quarters. The PB85 focuses on crew well-being, with spacious, well-appointed living spaces.
A distinctive detail is a single-level living and entertainment area extending across the entire main deck. The saloon extends from the forward helm station to the covered cockpit, and is bathed in natural light and well ventilated. The spacious aft deck offers exceptional views and easy access to the water.
The full-width master cabin amidships features a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, plenty of storage space and large windows letting in lots of natural light.

A shell developed using in-house V-Warp technology
As with all the brand's yachts, the PB85 is built using Palm Beach's V-Warp technology. This technology, developed through the experience of Mark Richards, combines hull form, composite construction materials and a precise building process. The PB85's hull is impregnated with an optimized ratio of resin with unidirectional and multiaxial fiber to create a hull that is strong, rigid but not too heavy. The hull is directly fused with the carbon fiber structure, bulkheads, deck and superstructure of the vessel.
Key features of the V-Warp hull include a fine water intake, a graceful curvature at the ship's side and a low hull angle at the stern. This shape reduces drag while adding buoyancy, stability and lift, enabling it to reach fast planning speeds.
