A cockpit dedicated to crewed maneuvers
The Sun Fast 30 OD's cockpit is designed to provide the crew with a large, functional maneuvering area. The helmsman enjoys optimum comfort with a folding tubular footrest, a customary arrangement that ensures a privileged position.

The configuration of the small coachroof is designed to optimize space, with an eccentric companionway to port, leaving room for the piano and pilot displays. Under certain conditions, these may be obscured by the piano ends, making them illegible to the helmsman or crew.

At the stern, access to the liferaft and helm areas is easy. A deck hatch also allows access to the aft hold directly from the cockpit.
Wide side decks provide easy access to the foredeck. During long voyages, the crew will appreciate the junction between hull and deck, designed in a rounded shape to preserve the comfort of the lower limbs. The retractable bowsprit is integrated directly onto the deck, avoiding cluttering up the interior when retracted.
Succinct but functional layouts
The Sun Fast 30 OD has been specially designed for crewed or double-handed competition, including multi-day events, while meeting the technical standards required for transatlantic racing.

Inside, at the foot of the companionway, a large chart table is positioned on the starboard side, providing a focal point for the navigator during offshore regattas. Next to the electrical panel is a sink with a symbolic water tank in the form of a canister, easily refilled in port.

The intelligent ergonomics of the V-shaped bench seats, the hoist-operated reclining bunks at the stern and the chart table equipped with fargues on the starboard side offer appreciable comfort for the crew. Under the cockpit, simple coffin bunks are installed on either side of the companionway, providing additional rest areas.
Enable a mixed amateur crew to sail offshore
At the mast step, a bulkhead houses the toilet, preceding the forward hold. This feature, a sign of a certain level of comfort for a unit designed for racing, testifies to the desire to accommodate a mixed amateur crew.

Despite its monastic appearance, the layout offers a certain level of comfort compared with other ocean-racing yachts, providing a balance between performance and habitability.
