Adjusted pricing for the French yard
The Leader 9.0 Wa Serie 2 we tested is available for ?235,000 incl. VAT, with the base price in 2024 without options being ?169,090 incl. VAT with 2 x 200 hp. The delta between the base version and our model is quite substantial, as the list of almost obligatory options is quite long.

Owners can choose between a 2x200, 2x225 or 2x250 horsepower bi-motorization. While the latter is the most pleasant to drive, the two lower-engined versions offer more economical ratios.

The market for open hulls with walkaround deck layout is large. With comparable sizes and versatile programs, competitors can be found not only among the major French manufacturers, but also in Italy and the USA.
Ranieri Next 285 Lx

Italian shipyard Ranieri is offering the Ranieri Next 285 Lx, an 8.8 m hull with the same features and program as the Leader 9.0 WA Series 2. Powered by two Mercury blocks with a combined output of 500 hp, it is available for ?260,000 incl. VAT, with similar equipment.
Beneteau Flyer 9 Sundeck

Slightly larger than the Leader, the Flyer 9 SUNdeck features optimized deck space and a sporty design. It's a welcoming day-boat, with easy access to its foredeck and safe circulation. Powered by two 500-hp Suzuki engines, it is available for ?210,000 incl. VAT.
Quicksilver Activ 875 Sundeck

Slightly smaller, the flagship of Quicksilver's Sundeck range can accommodate 12 passengers. The Quicksilver Actv 875 also has sleeping capacity for 4. With a 2x200 hp Mercury twin engine, it is available for ?169,000 incl. VAT.
Compared with the competition, the Leader 9.0 WA Series 2 has a relatively low entry-level price, yet remains competitive once the necessary options have been added.
