L'Armada des Possibles: a nautical model for integration

From July 3 to 5, 2024, La Trinité-sur-Mer is getting ready to host the Armada des possibles, an inclusive initiative bringing together companies, associations and young people around the same bridge for a 3-day sailing event in Quiberon Bay and Houat. Charterer Yellow Impact Sailing, who is spearheading the organization, explains what's at stake, and appeals to companies wishing to take part in the project.

With the aim of promoting encounters between different worlds, a consortium of associations, supported by Yellow Impact Sailing, a boat rental company based in La Trinité-sur-Mer (Morbihan), with a large fleet of Grand Surprises currently being refitted, is organizing a sailing event in Quiberon Bay and Houat from July 3 to 5, 2024. So named, the Armada des Possibles promises to be a human adventure transcending social and professional boundaries through the practice of a common activity: sailing. Companies, associations and young people from all walks of life are invited to take part in this enriching encounter.

Promoting integration and cohesion

Behind this initiative are Yellow Impact Sailing and three committed associations: Lazare, Unadev and l'Arche. Together, they conceived the Armada des Possibles as a catalyst for encounters and sharing," explains Jeanne Rioux, Development Manager for Yellow Impact Sailing. " The idea is to mix these worlds, to create collisions between different audiences . Associations represent social ambition: committed, they need the economic support of companies and the energy of young talent. Young people, for their part, are the driving force: whether students or young professionals, they have energy and ideas to contribute to a protean world of work. Last but not least, companies are the lifeblood of the economy. As profit creators, they seek to have a greater impact on the world and attract young talent. "In this dynamic, the complementarity between these three players proves essential to the social and environmental transition, enabling each to better understand the other and the issues that drive them. In this way, experienced sailors, young enthusiasts and people with disabilities or in precarious situations will come together on board boats, united by their passion for the sea and the desire to push back the limits of social inclusion.

Sailing at the heart of intergenerational and intercultural dialogue

At the heart of this inclusive approach, sailing is the ideal link. L'Armada des Possibles will offer three days of itinerant sailing in Quiberon Bay and Houat. With 10 participating sailboats, the event will welcome mixed crews made up of members of associations, companies, young professionals and students. In all, some 80 people, some of whom have never sailed before, will be supervised by experienced skippers and a dozen volunteers.

The program includes sailing sessions with introductory sailing and regattas, team-building workshops, convivial evenings ashore to encourage encounters, and an evening of testimonials from associations, companies and young people on the evening of July 4.

" We assume that different things happen on the water. We get these three players to sail together because we're convinced that sailing creates special dynamics of mutual support and complementarity, and that it's inspiring for everyone. Sailing offers a privileged space where genuine bonds are forged, and where differences fade in the face of the ocean's grandeur "says Jeanne Rioux.

As well as being a human event, the Armada des Possibles is also intended to be a committed ecological act. By raising participants' awareness of the need to preserve the marine environment, this initiative aims to encourage everyone to stand up for the oceans in the face of the threats that threaten them.

A call to action

With the start of the Armada des Possibles fast approaching, the organizing team has launched an appeal to companies wishing to join in this human and nautical adventure. " This first edition is just the beginning of a series "declares Jeanne Rioux, before adding: '' The Armada's ambitions are not limited to this single crossing; it aspires to establish itself over the long term, to extend to other ports (Côte d'Azur, English Channel, North Brittany...) and to welcome new partners, associations and schools, in order to popularize the ideals of inclusion and solidarity on a national scale, and why not on all the seas of the globe? ''. Aboard this eclectic fleet, the sea could become the stage for a more united and connected humanity; it's up to each and every one of us to do our part.
