Musto sets a new benchmark with the MPX Impact kit, comprising jacket and pants, integrating D3O for the first time in the demanding field of offshore racing. Pads printed on a special fabric and bonded to Gore-Tex fabric at the elbows and hips provide optimum shock absorption, offering added protection during high-speed maneuvers.
A design conceived for sailors
Flexible, lightweight, discreet and water-resistant, the protectors are coated with abrasion-resistant film and laser-cut for protection without compromising comfort or breathability. The 3D knee pads, meanwhile, are inserted into an inner trouser pocket, providing a perfect fit for every sailor.
Collaboration with industry experts
Musto ambassador Armel Le Cléac'h played a crucial role in the design of these new products, working closely with the brand's Sailing Design team. His expertise, acquired in ocean racing, has enabled us to design a kit that meets the specific needs of sailors in extreme conditions. Will Harris, co-skipper of the IMOCA Malizia, was able to test the technology in The Ocean Race and the Transat Jacques Vabre, and reports that he had far fewer post-race bruises when wearing the full kit.
