Ulysse Shore by Rouchette: a boot with gaiters for offshore sailing

Designed to cope with wet, salty and heeling conditions, the Ulysse Shore boasts an advanced technical design. Weighing just 483 g and made from recycled materials, it is aimed at coastal sailors and offshore racers alike.

Tested by Romain Attanasio during the New York Vendée 2024 and the Vendée Globe 2024, Rouchette's Ulysse Shore boot is a model designed for offshore sailing. This model will be available from September 2025 from retailers in Marine colors (sizes 40 to 46) at a price of ?189.90 (2025 price list).

Design and materials

The boot features a neoprene upper combined with a recycled polyester gaiter. The foot is covered with a TPU lining for added protection against abrasion, impact and salt water. FSC-certified natural rubber reinforcements complete the package for added durability.

Waterproofing and drainage

The package is advertised as 100% waterproof. The gaiter is adjustable with a one-hand quick-adjust cord. It incorporates a quick-drain system to evacuate accumulated water.

Grip and soles

The outsole is made of non-slip, non-marking rubber, specially designed for use on decks. It features a design that limits water retention. The insole is made from BLOOM algae.

Comfort and weight

The inner lining is made of recycled polyester. Weight: 483 grams for a size 42. The boot is available in sizes 40 to 46 in navy.

Visibility and safety

Retro-reflective details on the gaiter and inner stem enhance visibility at night and in low-light conditions.
