Windy 29 Huracan, an elegant, well-built sport cruiser

Presented for the first time at the Düsseldorf Boot in January 2024, the Windy 29 Huracan completes the Swedish manufacturer's range in the Classic Sport Cruiser category.

Between its 27 and its 32, the Windy yard had a hole in the gem. The Windy 29 Huracan fills the gap. It's what the shipyard calls a " Classic Sport Cruiser "This is a field in which the Swedish manufacturer excels.

A classic line

The Windy 29 Huracan takes up this Sport Cruiser line: a very slim, sleek silhouette, low to the water. The treatment of this boat reflects the image of the shipyard: boats with exemplary finishes.

The layout is also classic, but as pleasant as ever once at sea. You embark via the sundeck, using a passavant on the port side. Crew members immediately feel protected by this enclosed cockpit. Beneath their feet, they find the storage locker for the fenders. To starboard, a large sundeck covers the engine room. The backrest can be slid to provide comfortable seating in the cockpit, or to enlarge the sunbathing area.

Forward of the cockpit, two seats face the road. To starboard is a helm station with a dashboard that makes you want to put your hands on the throttle.

A full-coverage bimini

The entire cockpit can be protected by a bimini. This folds away neatly and hides under the seats. For this 29 Huracan, Windy has reworked the shape of the bimini so that it covers the entire cockpit area. When sailing, the bimini is rigid enough to stay in place.

A cabin with 2 berths

Access to the foredeck, entirely covered by a sundeck, is via the windshield, which opens in the center. Below deck, you'll find a cute little cabin with a double berth, a kitchenette and, above all, a truly independent toilet. Given its silhouette, headroom is inevitably limited, but it's enough to allow you to contemplate some nice outings, or even nights on board.

43 knots at peak

In terms of engines, this Windy 29 Huracan is powered by a single-engine inboard Z-Drive. For the first time, the shipyard has called on Yanmar for a 370 hp configuration, but Volvo petrol and diesel engines are also available. The Windy 29 Huracan is priced at ?315,000 incl. VAT with the 430 hp Volvo V8 petrol engine. It is claimed to reach 43 knots with this engine.
