First French sailor selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Louise Cervera joins the French sailing delegation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the single-handed dinghy, ILCA 6. She is the first athlete officially selected for sailing.

Yann Eliès race director for Tour Voile

The Tour Voile celebrates its 45th edition from June 26 to July 14. The start will be from Dunkirk. For this new edition, the race unveils a new director, in the person of Yann Eliès.

The New York Vendée - Les Sables unveils its line-up

31 skippers will be lining up at the start of the New York Vendée - Les Sables-d'Olonne race on May 29. This race is the last to qualify for the Vendée Globe . The line-up for the solo round-the-world race will be announced at the end of the race on July 2.

Navigator Giovanni Soldini moves to Ferrari

Ferrari enters the sailing world alongside Italian sailor Giovanni Soldini. The sailor was previously sponsored by Maserati on his Multi 70 for 11 years. The sailor, who holds the record for the Tea Route between Hong Kong and London, has reportedly already launched the construction of a new boat, a VPLP design.

Three technical stops in Cape Town

On January 23, Anthony Marchand also suffered major damage while sailing in the Roaring 40s. He decided to head for Cape Town to carry out repairs on his port foil. On January 26, Eric Péron on Adagio suffered damage to his starboard rudder. He repaired to Cape Town over the weekend. Tom Laperche lifted his trimaran SVR Lazartigue out of the water in the South African city.

Still in the lead, Charles Caudrelier on the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild rounded Cape Leeuwin on January 25. At the same time, he took the opportunity to beat François Gabart's 2017 record by 19 days, 14 hours and 10 minutes. The skipper of the giant white and blue trimaran achieved a new reference time of 18 days 5 hours 44 minutes and 5 seconds.

ILCA 7 Singlehanded Dinghy World Championship before the Olympic Games

From January 26 to 31, 2024, the ILCA 7 World Championships will be held in the Gulf of St. Vincent, Australia. France's Jean-Baptiste Bernaz, 2022 world champion, and Alexandre Boite will be competing against 151 laser sailors from 53 different nations.

Newcomers to the Ocean Fifty circuit

After 3 seasons in Class40, Matthieu Perraut, still accompanied by his partner Inter Invest, enters the Ocean Fifty. The partnership has been renewed for three years, with major races such as the Transat Jacques Vabre duo in 2025 and the Route du Rhum in 2026. Matthieu Perraut takes over Thibaut Vauchel-Camus' former VPLP design. The boat is currently undergoing major modifications: systems, electronics, engine, fittings...

Laurent Bourguès, former Technical Director for Thomas Ruyant, has just announced the purchase of Eric Péron's former Ocean Fifty. She will carry the colors of the Mon Bonnet Rose association.

Mer Concept, an ocean racing stable, also buys Armel Tripon's Ocean Fifty, Les P'tits Doudous for a women's project.
