A sailing version of the Power 80
Following the launch of the Thira 80 at the Cannes 2023 boat show, Fountaine Pajot has announced the launch of its motorized counterpart for 2024. The Power 80 has the same dimensions, i.e. 23.98 m long and 11.09 m wide. Light displacement is lower, at 56.2 tons versus 66 tons for the sailing model.
The largest model in the Fountaine Pajot powercat range, the Power 80 is designed by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.
A sleek, modern design
Spacious, the Power 80 should offer immense living space. Its contemporary design is particularly open to the exterior, with tilting bulwarks. Large black windows mark the hulls, the roof is rather low with an inverted windshield, and glass inserts can be seen in the bulwarks. Fenders extend the roof aft and to the sides, housing solar panels. Solar panels can also be found at the front of the roof and on the flybridge hard-top.

A large, protected front cockpit
In addition to the aft cockpit and well-protected flybridge, the Power 80 offers a huge foredeck for relaxation. This can be accessed either directly from the interior saloon, or from the side decks. The latter feature steps at the bow to access the decked bows. The forward cockpit is well protected, with bench seating and a bar. The bow, accessible from the cockpit floor via steps, is home to huge sunbathing areas for up to 6 people.

A wide range of interior layouts
On deck, the galley and dining area are located on the starboard side of the nacelle. The saloon on the opposite side features two sofas with a central table. The below-deck layout is available in many versions, for owner or charter: from 4 en-suite cabins including a Maestro and a Vip plus crew quarters, to 6 guest cabins with en-suite plus crew quarters, and up to 7 guest cabins plus crew.

Powerful engines for moderate-speed cruising
As standard, the Power 80 will receive 2x750 hp, with an option for engines up to 2x950 hp. Announced speeds are between 20 and 21 knots maximum. The 4,800-liter fuel tank should provide sufficient autonomy for transatlantic travel.
Launch end 2024
Some 20% more expensive than its sailing counterpart, the Power 80 is expected to cost just over 2 million euros. The first boat will be delivered in late 2024.
