Developing a weekender for inland waters where thermal propulsion is prohibited
Nero Yachts is a new German boatyard founded by Munich-based businessman Moritz Pfaller. A lifelong yachtsman, he teamed up with an Italian design team to create the Nero 777 Evolution. Aimed primarily at the inland waterway sector, this sporty 7.77 m long weekender is built to order. Its lightweight carbon-fiber hull is combined with the powerful 300 kW (approx. 400 hp) Hurricane electric inboard motor developed by Evoy. Numerous customization options are offered by the shipyard, as is the motorization, available in three power ratings: 60, 90 and 300 kW. Power ratings of 225 kW and 250 kW will be added at a later date.
In the 60 kW version with 40 kWh batteries, maximum speed is 25 knots. For maximum power, with 126 kWh batteries, top speed exceeds 50 knots.

Aeronautical carbon-fiber construction
For construction, the German shipyard teamed up with Grob Aircraft, a long-standing manufacturer of carbon-fiber composite aircraft. The shipyard preferred to use a Petestep hull rather than rail sprays, to save up to 35% energy.

A deck plan for the day and more
Although only 8 m long, this weekender offers an optimized and innovative deck layout. Tilting aft bulwarks significantly increase cockpit space and allow the multi-function seats/sunbaths to be moved around. Positioned on slides, they are easy to move sideways. Side steps on either side of the center console and windshield provide secure access to the decked foredeck. A concealed, self-deploying anchor at the top of the bow maintains the clean lines of the Nero 777 Evolution. Last but not least, the cockpit offers several storage areas, including dedicated shoe storage.

Inside, a cabin offers a double berth and an electric toilet for an occasional overnight stay.

Delivery in 2024
The first units could be delivered in 2024, with prices starting at 287,500 euros ex-VAT for the 60 kW version and 412,500 euros for the most powerful version.
