Ventio, lighter, sportier, cheaper and more transportable

While waiting for the launch of the Palma 30 catamaran, the Windpearl shipyard is working on a lighter, sportier dayboat version, but above all one that can be dismantled for transport in containers. And above all, even less expensive

We are still waiting the Palma 30, which is behind in production . The hull mold is still under construction in the Rochelaise region. The first model is announced for summer 2023, instead of summer 2022 as initially announced. Despite this delay, this catamaran is a UFO in the world of multihulls. Its simplicity and its price promise a bright future.

A 30-foot catamaran that can be dismantled

While the number one of the Palma series is being built in the Navigator version, the shipyard has received requests for a lighter, dismountable model. The idea is to be able to fit the catamaran into two 40-foot containers so that it can be shipped anywhere in the world. This dismountable version for transport will be called Ventio.

A sporty daybot

This catamaran, built in the same hull molds as the Palm, will be lighter and sportier. This gain in weight requires the boat to be 50 cm wider. The rear beam is made of aluminum while the front one is made of composite to integrate lockers and a protection for the nacelle. With very little space in the hulls, this catamaran with a hull of 9.20 m and an overall length of 10.59 m with a bowsprit of more than 5 m, will only weigh 2500 kg.

A unique deck mold

To simplify the construction, the access to the hulls is from the back. Thus the deck mold of both hulls is the same. In front of the companionways there is a double berth, 1.40 x 1.90 m and the front points can receive a single berth. The rear part of the hulls is provided for a chemical toilet so that it can be moved on slides.

Simple for a 25% gain on the scale

Outside the basket is reduced to its simple expression with a floor in removable panels. A Bimini can be installed to protect from the sun in summer. An outboard motor, thermal or electric, installed in a central position is used for port maneuvers.

This catamaran will be available at 120,000 euros excluding tax with its sails. For even more performance, a version with pivoting daggerboards taking place under the berths in the hulls is also under study.
