A 1st model to launch the range
The RIB market, and in particular the maxi-RIB, has been booming for several years. This was quickly confirmed when you walked the pontoons at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This has not dissuaded the rigid hull builder Rio Yachts from investing in the market with a rather successful first model.
Distinctive features
The Inagua S is the entry-level model in the Open Inagua maxi-RIBS range, with an overall length of 10.90 m. Designed for fun and relaxation on the water, the Inagua S features hypalon floats, not in a half-sphere, but truncated neatly at the stern, similar to Capelli's Tempest. Another distinctive feature is the imposing "diamond" shaped center console, which houses a generous toilet and/or storage area in the bow.
An imposing on-board console
At the rear, the huge dashboard houses all the electronic equipment, including the bow thruster controls installed as standard. Without a windshield, the comfort during navigation should be checked, especially at high speed. Just finished for the presentation in Cannes, the model on display also lacked a footboard to sit on the two pilot and co-pilot seats positioned high enough, but also to pilot standing up, comfortably wedged. This equipment will be installed later.
A T-Top with a suspended kitchen
The protective T-Top is used to suspend the small kitchen unit, which is equipped with a sink and can accommodate a grill. This installation faces a protective U-shaped bench seat, whose electric cockpit table also acts as a floor in its lower position.
A semi-rigid for relaxation
In keeping with Rio Yacht's relaxation program, the Inagua S offers generous sunbathing areas on the bow and stern. On the foredeck, the large relaxation area covers a large storage locker and provides access to the anchor locker. At the stern, the large sunbathing area leaves two side passages to access the cockpit and overhangs two generous bathing platforms. Under the cockpit bench, there is a standard drawer fridge, which can be combined with a second one as an option.
Speed in the program
Planned to receive between two times 255 horsepower and up to 600 horsepower maximum, it is in this last configuration that this first model was presented. Although we were not able to do a test run during the show, the pilot told us that he reached a maximum speed of 48 knots. The propeller not being correctly calibrated, the shipyard rather envisages a maximum speed around 52 knots. The pilot also indicated a consumption of 50L/h at a speed of 37 knots.
