DC25 E-Cat, a multifunctional electric dayboat for Dutch Craft

Dutch Craft, a Dutch shipyard that has become known for its "multifunction" boats, is declining its concept in an electric dayboat catamaran of 25 feet, the DC25 E-cat.

A fiberglass catamaran

The DC25 E-cat is based on the experience of building the DC25 all-electric carbon fiber monohull. Although it retains electric propulsion, this 7.45-meter-long model will nevertheless have a catamaran hull and be built in fiberglass. 100 units have already been sold to a European client for charter. In the same spirit, the Austrian shipyard Frauscher, which offers electric versions of its various models, has launched in 2021 the TimeSquare 20, an 8.30 m catamaran also powered by 2x12 kW .

Slow sailing without emissions

Thanks to its electric propulsion, the DC25 E-cat can navigate in marine reserves, in protected waters, but also on lakes where thermal propulsion is prohibited. The shipyard announces a range of 65 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 6 knots, while the maximum speed is set at 12 knots, all with two Torqeedo motors of 12 kW.

A multifunctional platform

According to the 3D visuals, the shipyard has retained the brand's exterior design, with a lowered bulwark height at the stern. The bow will be dedicated to onboard dining with a large U-shaped saloon and table, while the aft cockpit will house a sunbathing area, with a storage locker aft and the pilot bench seat forward, facing the center console. A starboard access could house a toilet or storage space.

As with the other models, the shipyard wants to make a DC25 E-cat a versatile platform to practice many activities: exploration, diving, swimming, relaxingâeuros¦
