Protecting the health of Mercury Marine employees at work
On all its production sites, Mercury Marine is committed to protecting the health of its employees, guaranteeing a fit company. Safety is at the heart of the company's culture. In 2021, Mercury reached a record low with a 39% drop in the number of accidents at work, despite a growth in activity to meet the strong demand of the nautical market.
Plant layout, management of boat loading systems, on-site vehicle circulation and safe walkways are among the investments made to achieve these results.
Adapting the ergonomics of workstations makes tasks more accessible to all types of personnel. On the engine assembly lines, Mercury Marine has been able to achieve a rate of 50% women.
Training in the detection of work-related ill-being and psychological problems has been offered to employees in order to strengthen teams and provide the necessary support to staff in difficulty.
Helping to care for employees and the community
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Mercury Marine did more than just vaccinate its employees. The vaccination center set up in the Fond du Lac plant has protected 450 employees and their families. Flu vaccinations are also being implemented in the company.
By promoting the volunteer actions of its employees, Mercury has raised funds for various medical and social initiatives in Juarez, Mexico, each time raising several thousand US dollars for projects such as clinics and programs to fight pediatric cancers or malnutrition.
Food collections and participation in the renovation of homes for poor homeowners have also been supported by Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. Donations were also collected in the company to fight against the menstrual insecurity of young women and their access to hygiene products.
Employee training
A happy employee is a trained employee. For this reason, Mercury Marine offers its employees training to improve their skills, as well as on broader subjects related to health, well-being or the environment.
Mercury is also involved with the Universities of Wisconsin and Moraine Park in the training of future boating professionals.
Through these various commitments, Mercury proudly assumes its role in the daily lives of its employees and its community.
