Clothing designed for offshore sailing
This winter, the Tribord brand from Décathlon launched a new range of sea wear, called Offshore 900. Part of the offshore range, it is designed for regular, committed sailing in all weather conditions. The development of the product was carried out with ocean racing skippers, Romain Le Gall in the Mini 650 and Achille Nebout in the Figaro 3, in parallel with the use of tools from the Decathlon laboratory in La Rochelle.

Waterproofing and flexibility of materials
Decathlon has set itself the goal of offering this range for seasoned sailors and offshore sailors of oilskins and overalls that will keep you dry in a storm. They have tested it under a fictitious rainfall of 450 mm/h for 24 hours. The new fabric used, a 3-layer laminate, meets the objectives with 20,000 schmerber, a unit of measurement for waterproofing.
If we didn't have the opportunity to push the test to 24 hours under the rain and the spray, we stayed dry despite the ambient humidity! These qualities do not prevent the fabric from remaining flexible and not hindering the movements during the maneuvers.
The 3-layer membrane is highly breathable (RET = 25, MVP 2000 g/m2/24h). Perspiration is efficiently evacuated.
Modularity and settings
The collection is designed to fit all boaters in terms of body size and shape. Beyond the sizes (from XS to XXXL), the adjustments are designed to adapt the clothes to the morphology. Reinforcements and pockets are included.
The overalls have a large reinforcement around the seat and on the lower legs. The length of the straps is easily adjustable in 2 positions via velcro. Also, a side adjustment allows to adjust slightly above the waist. A quick scratch pocket on the right leg complements a second smaller pocket with a zipper on the other leg.

On top, Decathlon offers a jacket or a classic jacket. We tested the jacket which has all the essentials of such a garment, with the 2 front pockets: one with top opening and the other with side opening, with a lining to warm the hands. The originality lies in its removable hooded collar. You can have a large high collar for cold or very wet sailing, or by unzipping a simple zipper, be satisfied with the waterproofness of the internal neoprene collar.

Offered at a price of 250 euros for the jacket and 230 euros for the overalls, the set is very coherent in relation to the service. Decathlon euros Tribord confirms its relevance in terms of quality-price ratio.
