A well-deserved victory

It was a well-deserved victory for Thomas Ruyant on the sistership of Apivia (Charlie Dalin), the great favorite of the event. The Ruyant/Lagravière duo was also among the favorites, the northerner having taken control of his boat for 3 years now. Still among the leaders of the fleet, LinkedOut had regained the ascendancy over Apivia who had led the beginning of the race, as soon as they passed Cape Verde on November 16th. He was able to keep Charal and Apivia at a distance, with a comfortable lead since he finished almost 200 miles ahead of the others.

The first words of the skipper

Thomas Ruyant : " A lot of happiness shared, we took a lot of pleasure on the water with Morgan. It's a great sporting experience, these are rare moments. This victory has been in the making for several months, for several years, thanks to the great team working on this project. There are many things that were done before the start. We were lucky enough to have a boat that was ultra-ready, in which we had confidence, on which we could pull, which we did not spare. Neither did we, even on the last few days when we had a bit of a lead, we didn't let up a metre, we put in the energy from the start to the end. We are well cooked, the last session between Fernando and the finish was long. It's the first time we've raced in a Transat and we've been in places where it's hot, where it's tough to maneuver."
