A boat designed for family sailing
Building on the success of its previous SR41 yacht, which sold more than 100 units, Bavaria wanted to extrapolate this success to a smaller 36-foot unit. The SR36, which will be unveiled at Boot 2022, has the same main concepts, although the hull, deck and superstructure are completely new. Designed to be safe and family-friendly, it is structured around an outdoor living area and below-deck spaces designed for intimate privacy.

A cockpit that can go from semi-open to closed cabin
Daily life aboard the SR36 takes place on deck. A bathing platform, wide for a unit of its size, with optional hydraulic lift, gives access to the water and easily accommodates a small tender. A large turned sunbathing area completes the rear relaxation space, with an optional storage box under its seats. It is completed by a second large sundeck on the front deck. Guardrails running the length of the boat ensure safety for crew of all ages.
The superstructure classically accommodates a saloon table and an L-shaped bench seat on the port side, a steering position on the starboard side and a co-pilot's seat that can be transformed into a chaise longue. On the starboard side, facing the table, a generous outside kitchen with an 80 L fridge will be the stronghold of the tail master!

But Bavaria's main exterior innovation on the SR 36 is in the shell of this superstructure. The customer can choose between a classic open-air version with a hard-top opening or a soft-top. For navigation in cold countries or if air conditioning is used, an optional glass door closes the saloon aft. On the other hand, Bavaria offers an original semi-open saloon, keeping the roof of the superstructure, combined with a low windscreen. The future will tell whether this offer will find its audience.

Generous volumes for a 36-foot boat
If the freeboard necessary to obtain the volume under deck harms a little the external line, it must be admitted that the interior volume is appreciable. We were able to see this at the shipyard in a full-scale model, whose photos are unfortunately confidential. The boat has a bathroom with separate shower and a minimalist saloon. Indeed, the emphasis is on the cabins. The aft cabin offers 2 separate beds of 2 meters, which can be joined by adding a cushion. In addition, a 1.90-meter chaise longue can comfortably accommodate 3 children or a couple of friends.

To accentuate the effects of volume, the bulkhead of the front cabin can be replaced by a curtain in an "Open Space" version, increasing the impression of volume below deck, as we found at the shipyard.
The price of this boat, designed by Marco Casali and Micad, has not been revealed yet. It will be proposed with 4 versions of motorization: Mercruiser gasoline 2x350CV, Volvo gasoline 2x240CV or 2x300CV or Volvo diesel 2x300CV.
