A motor yacht inspired by the world of sailing
9 months ago, Evo Yachts announced the future launch of the Velar 78 an innovative motor yacht, inspired by the Velar 70 concept presented in December 2019 by Evo Yachts' designer Valerio Rivellini. Finally, it will be the Evo V8, a 24-meter yacht, and the first model of a new V range, with a modular layout and at the crossroads between the worlds of sailing and motoryachts.
In terms of design, there is nothing like the previous models, with their open deck plans. Here, the wheelhouse is almost closed, only open at the back, and the freeboard height seems to be higher.
"Powerboat enthusiasts start their vacation when they arrive at their destination, either at anchor off the coast or in port, while sailboat owners start their vacation right away, as soon as they embark." explains the designer.
To meet this mixed sailing/motor approach, there are 4 steering stations on board the boat. One on the main deck in front of the salon and a second one on the roof. Two steering wheels positioned on each side of the main deck complete the set. This clear reference to the world of sailing should facilitate maneuvers.
Central benches are positioned between these two helm stations, allowing guests to communicate with the pilot.

An owner's cabin with private terrace
Another feature of the Evo V8 is the large swim platform that can be accessed directly from the main cabin (located aft) at the owner's request. This bathing platform is open to the water at only 70 cm above the waterline and has tilting bulwarks to enjoy a 180° view.

Three steps lead down to a sunken living room, which precedes the owner's cabin, separated by sliding glass doors. This space can be used both as an outdoor patio during the day, separated from the interior, sheltered from the wind and sun, or as a private living space for the owner at night, by closing the external door of the terrace and transforming the space into a 12 m long open space.

A custom design
Evo 8 is fully customizable, with two different staircases leading to the main deck from the lower deck, to separate the crew from the owners. The first unit has 3 cabins for 7 people and a cabin for a crew of 2.
On the main deck, there is a dining area protected by large windows that can be almost completely lowered. In this layout, the Evo V8 will look like an Open with a rigid T-Top.
